Additional Introduction
Starting with the establishment of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety's biosafety level 3 research facility (BSL-3) for the first time in Korea in 2000, Wosem Co., Ltd. participated in the construction of a BSL-3 facility for regional governments in preparation for the bioterrorism of the 2002 World Cup tournament, we joined in establishment of BSL-3 facilities of local governments nationwide to fight mad cow disease in 2004, and since 2008, we participated in developing BSL-3 facilities in the animal sanitation research institutes of local governments across the country, and BSL-3 of health and environment research institutes in relation to swine flu, in the grade research facility construction project.
Especially, in 2008, for the first time in Korea, Wosem has successfully carried out the certification of Institut Pasteur Korea BSL-3 research facility and since then, we have successfully performed certification projects of various domestic and foreign organizations and obtained numbers of related patents. Based on our accumulated technology in biosafety area, we have been the first domestic company to successfully carry out ODA projects of the Korean government in Mongolia, Philippines, Myanmar, East Timor, and Vietnam through KOICA and KRC.
In particular, we contributed to the nation and society by developing the world's first portable negative pressure unit to respond to the MERS outbreak in 2015. and in 2018, with development support from the MSS, we localized “Negative Pressure Carrier” for the first time in Korea.
The Negative Pressure Carrier has been registered for patent rights, medical device permission, and public procurement, and has been designated as an R&D innovative product by the government. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it has played a leading role in K-Quarantine by being supplied to public medical centers across the country, fire stations of each local government, and military units. We also have supplied Negative Pressure Carriers to 10 countries including Ethiopia and India as an official development assistance (ODA) project through the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
